Reminders
Abstract
When a public holiday approaches, an office may wish to send the Reminders the day before the public holiday so that
staff do not need to attend the office to transmit reminders on the public holiday. Capable has a feature to handle
this situation automatically. This knowledgebase article explains how to enable this feature.
Underlying challenge
In order for Capable to adapt reminder dates for public holidays, it needs to know when those public holidays will
occur. Local governments typically post public holiday dates a year or two before they happen. A staff member will
need to add those public holidays to Capable's configuration as they become available. It is a good idea to set up
a periodic task to remind staff to do this each year.
Resolution
This training video explains how to setup Public Holidays.
Note that when public holidays are added, some reminders may have already been scheduled to fall on those days.
It is best if the public holidays are added well in advance to avoid this problem. It is possible to get Capable
to change the reminder dates if this happens by accident. Note that this option may take some time, so it should only be
performed during an extended break.
- Go to Setup|Settings.
- Go to the Client Tracking tab.
- Click the Auto Create Reminders button.
- When prompted, click Yes.
- When prompted, click No.
